Franchising in 2020 off to a great start

Now that the general election & Brexit have thankfully come & gone franchising is booming in 2020.

The QFA has seen a huge rise in enquiries from businesses interested to find out more about growth via franchising & individuals finding out about self-employment through franchising.

It’s hard to believe we are just 6 weeks into 2020! Thanks to our members & sponsors we have already achieved so much this year including;

  • Increased online marketing – With membership renewals we have been able to increase our online marketing budget. We are investing in Google Ads, SEO & social media campaigns. The QFA website & it’s official directory UK Franchise Opportunities, which is free to advertise for QFA members have seen a massive 200% increase in traffic this year!
  • Sky TV advertising – Our Sky TV advertising has generated huge awareness of franchising & we are delighted to be the first franchise association to promote ethical franchising in this way. The 30 day campaign is still running & we have already booked our next campaign with a great new advert being produced now & this should run in around 2 months.
  • Growing membership – We have welcomed 16 businesses into membership already in 2020, have several going through accreditation & have received dozens of enquiries to find out more about the QFA.
  • Climate change initiative & events – As our membership grows we are working on new initiatives to bring members together more. With transportation accounting for 33% of carbon emissions in the UK we feel it’s irresponsible to arrange regular face to face meetings. These sort of meetings often have small numbers as they require a lot of travelling & time commitment for members in addition to the harm they do to the environment. We prefer to adopt a more modern & environmentally friendly approach & we are now running regular webinars for our members with expert guest speakers. We will still be running our larger free franchising seminars as these are less frequent & held at venues more accessible by public transport & these will be announced shortly. We hope other UK franchise associations will follow our lead in this initiative & help reduce carbon emissions.

Joel Bissitt, CEO comments “The level of support from members has been incredible & the activity in 2020 has far exceeded my expectations. We listen to our members. Most of the initiatives we have already introduced & the many we are working on are directly from membership feedback. It’s a very exciting time for the QFA & it’s members. Going by the level of activity so far 2020 is going to be a great year for franchising!”
